Joshua Haberman
Joshua will be presenting Audacity.

Josh is a senior at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, majoring in Computer Science and Music. He has been working on Audacity for three years, and is currently a lead developer, along with Dominic Mazzoni and Matt Brubeck. In addition to his interest in computer software and technology, he is a singer and organist.

Dominic Mazzoni
Dominic will be presenting Audacity.

Dominic Mazzoni started Audacity four years ago and is still one of the lead developers. He's currently employed doing Machine Learning research at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, and on the side plays jazz piano.

Bram Cohen
Bram will be presenting Codeville.

Bram is one of the founders of Codecon and the author of BitTorrent. He currently holds a day job at Valve software.

Ross Cohen
Ross will be presenting Codeville.

Michael Grigoriev
Michael will be presenting FunFS.

Michael Grigoriev and David Held are 3rd year students at the University of Waterloo (Canada) studying Computer Science and Software Engineering. While working at Net Integration technologies, Michael started the FunFS project and David soon joined in. Although they are not presently working at Net Integration Technologies, they have continued developing FunFS on it on their own time.

David Held
David will be presenting FunFS.

Michael Grigoriev and David Held are 3rd year students at the University of Waterloo (Canada) studying Computer Science and Software Engineering. While working at Net Integration technologies, Michael started the FunFS project and David soon joined in. Although they are not presently working at Net Integration Technologies, they have continued developing FunFS on it on their own time.

Michel Emond
Michel will be presenting GracefulTavi.

Michel Emond and Kelly John Rose work at the NITI R&D Centre in Montreal, Canada. Mich works as the corporate "Web Juggler", and is responsible for the design and implementation of the many web applications used inside and outside our products. He spends his free time watching movies, playing the didgeridoo, and enjoys road trips and meeting different cultures. As an Evil Death Ray, Kelly is responsible for assuring the high quality of the NITIX OS and other NITI products before release. He is currently studying mathematics at the University of Waterloo, and enjoys tasting fine wines, playing jazz music, and travelling.

Chris Eagle
Chris will be presenting ida-x86emu.

Chris Eagle is the Associate Chairman of the Computer Science Department at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA. A computer engineer/scientist for 18 years, his research interests include computer network operations and reverse/anti-reverse engineering. In addition to being Director of NPS' Computer Network Research Lab, he teaches computer forensics and conducts malware analysis.

Sander Temme
Sander will be presenting mod_zeroconf.

Sander Temme hails from Amsterdam, the Netherlands where he obtained a Masters degree in Experimental Physics. After completing his education he went on a round-the-world trip in an attempt to unlearn everything he just learned. He currently works for Covalent Technologies in San Francisco. Sander is owned by Murphy, the wonder kitten.

Jonathan Moore
Jonathan will be presenting Mosuki.

Jonathan Moore has been an active member of the community wireless movement in the San Francisco bay area. He designed and built WikiWikiWAN, an ad-hoc, wireless mesh network deployed in Santa Cruz, California. A native to the bay area, he currently resides in San Francisco with wife, Leah, and newborn, Bella.

Matt Chisholm
Matt will be presenting Mosuki.

Matt Chisholm has a MA in Linguistics and a BA in Mathematics from UC Santa Cruz. In addition to social networks, he is interested in user interface design and the intersection between art and code.

Jeremy Avnet
Jeremy will be presenting Mosuki.

Jeremy Avnet (brainsik) is the founder and maintainer of Theory Org. He recently returned to San Francisco after a year of studying social networks and theories of complex adaptive systems at the University of New Mexico.

Steve Hazel
Steve will be presenting Mosuki.

Brian Wotring
Brian will be presenting Osiris.

Brian Wotring codes for a living, and for fun. He recently co-authored a book titled "Mac OS X Security." He is a member of The Shmoo Group of security professionals.

Pablos
Pablos will be presenting Osiris.

Pablos is a former computer security aficionado with a knack for hand waving and interpretive dance. He is a member of The Shmoo Group of security professionals.

Brian Warner
Brian will be presenting PETmail.

Brian Warner has been developing free software for many years. He is currently an active developer on the Twisted framework, a maintainer of the Mailcrypt emacs encryption package, author of EGD (the Entropy Gathering Demon), and a stumbling new contributor to the Mnet project.

Jon Callas
Jon will be presenting PGPUniversal.

Mr. Callas served as Chief Scientist at PGP Inc. and as CTO of the Network Security Division for Network Associates Technologies Inc. Mr. Callas served as Director of Software Engineering at Counterpane Internet Security Inc. and was a co-architect of Counterpane's Managed Security Monitoring system. Most recently, he was Senior Systems Architect at Wave Systems Corporation. His career includes work at Digital Equipment Corporation, World Benders, and Apple Computer. He is the principal author of the Internet Engineering Task Force's (IETF's) OpenPGP standard and a writer and frequent lecturer on system security and intellectual property issues. Mr. Callas has a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Maryland.

Jason Bobier
Jason will be presenting PGPUniversal.

Mr. Bobier began his career programming OS/2 and AS/400s for a small company, I/NET, in Kalamazoo, MI. I/NET was contracted to extend IBM's OS/400 to include multimedia distribution capabilities. In 1994, he struck out on his own founding Prismatix Corp. to provide Mac OS consulting to the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. In 1996 he was contracted by a small startup, PrivNet, to port their software (which included Internet Fast Forward, the first software designed to strip advertising off of web pages) to the Mac OS. Later that year, PrivNet was acquired by PGP, Inc. and he has been working on PGP ever since. Mr. Bobier is currently working on PGPUniversal and is responsible for the SMTP, POP, and IMAP proxies.

Mr. Bobier has a B.A. in Computer Science and Political Science from Kalamazoo College in Michigan.

Mike Leahy
Mike will be presenting Scream.

Joaquin Keller
Joaquin will be presenting Solipsis.

Joaquin Keller obtained a Master Degree in Mathematical Logic from the University of Paris VII (Jussieu) and a PhD on Network Management and Distributed Systems from University of Versailles. He is a researcher at France Telecom Research & Development center of Issy les Moulineaux and his current research interests include peer-to-peer systems, distributed algorithms and multimedia communication.

Gwendal Simon
Gwendal will be presenting Solipsis.

Gwendal Simon gained his Master Degree in Computer Sciences, speciality Distributed Systems and Networks, from the University of Rennes I, France. His research interests included peer-to-peer systems and ad hoc networks. He has teached computer programming at Saint-Cyr School for one year. And he is now preparing a PhD on massively distributed shared VR systems at France Telecom R&D and INRIARennes.

Roger Dingledine
Roger will be presenting Tor.

As a cryptographer and network security expert, Roger Dingledine lives in that space between theory and practice. He prefers to tackle the really hard problems so one day we can build real solutions. Current interests include anonymous publishing and communication systems, censorship-resistance, attack-resistance for decentralized networks, and reputation.

Kenneth C. Schalk
Kenneth will be presenting Vesta.

Ken Schalk has been working on various aspects of data management for microprocessor projects since early 1997. In late 1998, he began helping the Alpha microprocessor group use Vesta (then a corporate research project), acting as a liaison between the researchers and Vesta's largest user community. With the acquisition of the Alpha group by Intel, Ken took over as lead maintainer, undertook the Linux port, and brought Vesta into the world of free software.
